Book tastes

Historical Fiction - especially Medieval and Renaissance time frames - I have also liked reading reading about Ancient Egypt.
As an example I really enjoyed:
- Sarah Woodbury (recommended from
SantaThing 2021!)
- Michelle Moran’s books (the Nefertiti series was awesome!)
- Laura Morelli’s books (art + fiction!)
- Stephanie Thornton’s books (different characters like Hatshepsut, wife of Alexander the Great, Alice Roosevelt)
I would like to find some new authors/series to read! So all different authors/first books in a series are great choices!
I like books that have strong female lead characters.
I took at look at my likes on Amazon and looked at “you might also like” and “books by similar authors” sections - there is a LOT there I haven’t read! Or maybe it’s bringing up books that it knows I haven’t read :-)

Don't get this!

Anything heavy romance or sexual, horror, overtly and graphically triggering.
Phillipa Gregory
Please no WWII - there is a lot on that and I would like something a bit different! :-)
Please no Rhys Bowen.

Other notes

I tend to get on reading jags - where I get one book of an author then read the series or all they have written. My book list is up to date with all my research books but not all the library books & fiction I’ve read - but most of what I've read in the last few years!
Probably close to 75% of the books I've read this year were books that somehow can be tied to SantaThing - either through receiving the first in a series (then I read the rest of the series!) or from a recommendation! - I keep a list of all my recommendations that SantaThing folks recommend and those go on my list to be read as well! :-)
I’m not someone who has to read the popular expensive authors - smaller, lesser known authors are really awesome!!
