Book tastes
I like literary fiction, slightly weird stuff is okay. Some romance. Some fantasy, but not high fantasy. More like magical realism? I like thrillers sometimes, but I rarely reread them so I just get those from the library.
Recent books I gave 5 stars: The God of Endings by Jacqueline Holland, Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn, The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston (I also really loved The Dead Romantics), Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth, the Elements of Cadence duology by Rebecca Ross, The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton, The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, Circe by Madeline Miller, etc.
Hope that helps!
Don't get this!
Please don't get anything religious/christian, whether fiction or nonfiction. No self-help or other nonfiction. No westerns. No graphic novels or manga. No authors like James Patterson or Danielle Steel that churn out books. No political or police procedural type books.
Other notes
While I love hardcover books, I find that I really prefer the feel of reading a paperback. Also, you can fit more paperbacks on a shelf than hardcover! :D
Also, I don't really keep up with my favorites here in LibraryThing. I use Goodreads and StoryGraph for ratings and reviews. I mostly use LT to keep track of books used for homeschooling my kids, but I DO keep careful record of what I already own in my "Your Library" collection.
