Book tastes

I'm a big sci fi reader, specifically into space opera, sci fi horror, weird fiction (like Jeff Vandermeer). I do enjoy some fantasy, more high fantasy. I also like history and biographies, especially history that covers a specific event or period in great detail ("Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William Shirer and the Robert Caro LBJ biography series are some personal favorites). I'm not into only a specific time period or nation's/culture's history, I'm interested in any.

Don't get this!

Really fluffy or "squeecore" style fiction. Nothing wrong with the genre, it's just not for me. Anything by Orson Scott Card. I have all of his works that I'm interested in reading already. As for history books, nothing that's an attempt to be apologetic or rehabilitate right-wing figures/movements. Just not at all interested in justifying that stuff.
